| Position Overview
TRAVELING HEARING ADVOCATE
Do you love to travel? Is the ideal position one where you can perform your job while traveling? If so, the Traveling Hearing Advocate role, which requires up to 90% travel, may be perfect for you! Join our growing team of Hearing Advocates who work with clients in pursuit of their Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claim awards. The Hearing Advocate provides benefit advocacy and representation to clients at the Hearing Level within the Administrative Court.
Primary functions include preparation of cases; complete updating of records, and submission of pre-hearing briefs and/or motions for summary judgment. At Hearings, the Advocate will make opening and closing statements and conduct direct and cross examinations of the client and any expert witnesses. The Hearing Advocate will also engage the Judge in discussion on the merits of the case, citing to the evidence of record and the applicable law.
Specific functions include the following:
• Calendar management including hearings, client calls, preparation and wrap up meetings
• Draft, write and answer various motions and correspondences (pre and post-hearing)
• Coordinate proper copying, filing, faxing and mailing as needed for reference prior to and during Hearings
• Work to ensure that all relevant supporting documentation is prepared and submitted, ensuring that no cases are discontinued for lack of medical documentation
• Partner with hearing support staff to achieve strong communication and work flow management, regarding claims at the Hearing and Appeals levels
• Work to achieve an 80% success rate at all hearings and 100% success rate on all submitted motions for summary judgment.

Qualifications: |
| Desired Skills & Experience Requirements:
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks and prioritize tasks and assignments appropriately; results oriented.
• Timely, work, excellent customer service and consistent follow-up.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated consistent sound judgment and decision making skills; ability to identify potential problems and provide proactive solutions for management of problems; able to recognize need for supplemental resources.
• Ability to analyze issues and extrapolate appropriate solutions from a benefit advocacy perspective
• Professional, informed and appropriate representation in a courtroom
• Models a high level of accountability and personal integrity; able to communicate across the organization openly and with respect
Recommended:
• Experience working in benefit advocacy
• Experience and proven success in a role where high volume travel was a standard component to the role; experience in a position requiring great intellectual and emotional flexibility
