Duties: |
Evaluation and treatment of patients with neuromuscular or muscoskeletal disorders.
I. SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide appropriate Physical Therapy services to patients using professionally accepted modalities, postural and muscle balance training and instruction for exercise following an efficient and thorough evaluation by the licensed Physical Therapist.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation regarding patients' treatment techniques used and progress.
• With input from patients, develop a plausible set of long-term and short-term goals based upon a thorough problem list.
• Assist in clerical and cleaning tasks as necessary.
• Manage department in absence of department manager.
Quality Assurance
• Follow the laws and guidelines written and established for Physical Therapist by the Washington State Physical Therapy Board and the State of Washington.
• Follow the ethics guidelines established by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Maintain professional communication with the patient’s referring Provider through use of daily treatment documentation, which is to be located in the patient’s chart, progress and notes sent directly to the Provider, and phone conversations with the Provider or Provider’s nurse, as appropriate.
Supervisory Responsibility
• May supervise individuals who are interested in enrollment in a PT or PTA program and who are observing PT to meet the necessary enrollment experience requirements.
• Will appropriately utilize the PT aide for assistance with treatment set-up and exercise monitoring per PT aide job description.

Qualifications: |
• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Washington State Physical Therapist License, or ability to obtain.
• No previous professional experience required, but preferred.
• Ability to function as a Physical Therapist, independently, with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate ideas to patients in layman's terms, or to other health care professionals using medical terminology.
