| POSITION SUMMARY: Sesonal position from May to Oct Responsible for grouping together and accounting for dining room food orders from cooks’ pantry stations; garnishes and completes entrée plate presentation before wait staff may serve order to guest. NATURE AND SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: Receives working direction from kitchen and dining room management. |
Duties: |
| KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Promotes the spirit and intent of Guest Services Hospitality Standards. • Checks wait station area to make sure all areas are stocked. • Sets up garnish station for plate presentation. • Stocks appropriate dishes and utensils as required. • Communicates with pantry and line cooks regarding soup du jour, specials and “outed” items; relays that information to dining room staff. • Aware of and promotes safety in the workplace. • Communicates with day porter and dish staff to set up dishes as required. • Maintains a clean and sanitary work place; understands and adheres to NPS sanitation standards. • Requisitions necessary beverage or food items for wait area from kitchen steward as approved or directed. • Cleans thoroughly expediter work area after each shift as directed. • Other related duties as assigned. |
Qualifications: |
| PREREQUISITES: Education: High school graduate. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Kitchen and/or dining room experience preferred; must have current Washington State food handler's card. PERSONAL QUALITIES AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively. Must be able to write legibly as well as read and understand directions and instructions. Appearance must be in compliance with company guidelines; must provide company approved slip resistant shoes. Will be required to perform diverse physical tasks. Must be able to stoop, bend, grasp, and perform repetitive motions. Some walking and stair climbing. Good physical energy, stamina and agility. Exposure to wet floors. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be service and safety oriented. Must possess a sense of awareness, timelines, urgency, humor, and common sense. Must be able to adapt to the isolation of national park life. |
