Skills Inc. is an Aerospace Finishing and Manufacturing company. We are current seeking a Human Resources professional to join our team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Present and represent HR policy, philosophy, and provide guidance to employees in a Manufacturing Environment
- Resolve issues with employees in regards to adherence with company policies and procedures
- Assist in conducting investigations
- Reports findings of investigations to the Human Resources Generalist and Human Resources Manager
- Assist in the investigation of grievances and complaints
- Assist with the planning, preparation, hosting, and administration of regularly scheduled Required Employee Orientations
- Maintain confidentiality
- Facilitate enrollment in Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, and 401K both at time of eligibility and open enrollment
- Responsible for timely enrollment
- Assist employees in gaining access to benefits if assistance is required
- Owner of benefit files and responsible for management of these files
- Responsible for timely COBRA offering
- Assist with the recruiting and onboarding process. Including screening resumes of potential new employees, conducting interviews, processing background and reference checks, offering position to final applicant
- Assist / Update employee files to document personnel action and provide information for payroll and other uses
- Examine employee files to answer inquires to authorized persons
- Assist in training and measurement of the results
- Support Vocational Department as required to facilitate incorporate of vocational clients into Skills workforce as the environment changes
- Support Supervisor needs and provide guidance and direction in following policies and procedures
- Support the Wellness Program including ongoing and individual wellness campaigns
- Support employee recognition program including service awards and employee events
- Provide backup coverage for reception desk
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements - Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field of study and two years related experience; or Associates degree from a two-year college or university in a related field of study with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PHR preferred
- Advanced computer literacy in Windows environment including MS Office experience
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and learning styles
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to support off shifts
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to travel with in the Puget Sound Region
Physical Demands - Indoor manufacturing and finishing facility
- Occasional exposure to chemicals and fumes
This position will be based out of the Auburn Facility and will support all facilities located in Auburn, Ballard, and Arlington. Travel will be up to 50% and mileage will be reimbursable per company policy. The regular schedule for this position would be Tuesday - Saturday 7am - 3:30pm This individual would work Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm for training purposes Wages DOE.
