| The Klickitat Valley Health Laboratory department is now in search of an MT or MLT to join their exceptional team that provides high quality care and excellent customer service to our patients. Our spacious, well-equipped lab is open 24 hours per day and provides services the Emergency Department, Family Practice Clinic, hospital inpatients and routine outpatient testing. |
Duties: |
| The MT/MLT should be a strong generalist with the ability to perform clinical laboratory testing in microbiology, chemistry, hematology, serology, blood bank and urinalysis. Each member of the lab is an integral part of the team and brings unique interests and skills therefore all MT/MLT's participate in performance improvement initiatives or other projects associated with the operation of the laboratory. The MT/MLT may perform special tasks or projects, have section head responsibilities, or serve on hospital committees or QI teams. |
Qualifications: |
| Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a two year Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required. CPR/BLS, Washington State Healthcare Assistant certification (for Phlebotomy) and national MT/MLT certification also required: ASCP preferred; NCA, CLS or other equivalent certification will be considered. The tech must have the ability to work cohesively within a team, maintain positive relationships with fellow colleagues and communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Strong trouble-shooting and multi-tasking skills are essential. Three years of generalist experience working in a clinical laboratory preferred but not required. Other desired qualifications include procedure writing skills and LIS database management. Applicants must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 50lbs, and move quickly during times of patient crisis. |
