| Klickitat Valley Health, a small, rural, critical access hospital located in beautiful Goldendale, Washington is now seeking a Medical Records Supervisor to join our team. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the overall flow of work within the department as well as assuring quality standards and policies and procedures are followed while processing medical records. The department consists of one coder, one file clerk and 3 transcriptionists. The Supervisor is expected to perform departmental job duties in addition to supervisory responsibilities (working supervisor). |
Duties: |
| Establishes systems and procedures for the distribution and use of medical records throughout the facility; Selection, training, and performance evaluation of department personnel; Monitors compliance with federal and state regulations as they apply to medical records including HIPAA, medical staff bylaws, state and local governing agencies, etc; Annual budget planning; Performance Improvement Projects; Daily census; HIPAA Privacy Officer; Monitors transcriptionist productivity and pending transcription volume- opens to additional resources when needed; Performs problem analysis and works to find suitable resolution for all parties involved; Communicates regularly with multiple levels of KVH staff including physicians, department managers, administration, etc; routine departmental functions as needed. |
Qualifications: |
| A minimum of 3 years experience in a medical records setting with 1 year of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. RHIT or RHIA strongly preferred. The Supervisor must have the demonstrated ability to organize and positively lead a functional area in an integrated health system. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for this position. |
