Skills Inc. is an Aerospace Finishing and Manufacturing company currently seeking an Assembly Mechanic at our Auburn South location. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform drilling, set up, assembly, riveting, gluing, bonding, and other area duties according to aerospace drawing specifications Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gage and other measuring equipment needed to complete work Knowledge of fastener specifications and glue requirements for the aerospace industry Utilize production work orders and documents Must have a minimum of 4 years experience with aerospace drawings and specifications Using prescribed procedures, inspect part(s) and product(s) produced assuring compliance to specifications that will eliminate defects, scrap, rework, etc Ensure part(s) meet all Customer Quality requirements Identify and correct root causes for quality problems Detect and report defective equipment, materials, faulty operations to proper supervision Daily maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition Follow prescribed work rules and standard safety regulations at all times Performs other duties as assigned by supervision MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent 4 years minimum experience working on aerospace assemblies Applicants with experience sheet metal work is a plus but not required Applicants must have the ability to perform mid level math skills efficiently and with good accuracy Must be able to take direction from lead and supervisor to complete tasks assigned Ability to read work instructions and procedures in English Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to lift or move 25lbs regularly and up to 40lbs occasionally Indoor manufacturing facility Occasional exposure to chemicals and fumes Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout the workday Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus Wages DOE, Excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vacation and personal time, 401K.
